Let the Machines do the Talking

The youth achievement awards performance. We've decided to try a different approach again with this performance. This one will be based around the title only. It is an open theme and open for any ideas based around the title.

Our take on the title is based around living through screens. We are producing a tick list survey to research how much time people spend in front of digital screens. I'm obviously in front of one right now typing this message. This survey will be sent round the linking lives group as well. The results from the youth and the linking lives group will be then compared.

These idea will hopefully give us some evidence we can use for a message to send out to our audience. Something like can we live with out looking at screens?

Last night we bounced some idea's around for technologies and methods in which to perform. These idea's can be used with any story line. They are as follows:

PHONE: We were thinking of using a group of phones to build a sound track. One phone would start with a basic beat / baseline, then a second phone would join in with another element of a song, like the vocals or the some symbols? If there was up to 6 phones there would be six different sounds and beats from each phone to combine to make a music. On stage there could be a dance routine introduced.

PROJECTOR: It would be interesting to add some depth and originallity to the performance by adding projected film to compliment the acting on stage. Something along the lines of pausing a film on the projector then acting out the rest of the scene?
