Launch of the D-i Trademark logo
The logo was one of the original designs that was never released in 2001, when it was first thought The Drop Inn needed one. There was a few different designs. But the one that is used from now was one that got shelved for 6 years. When it was re-descovered it was smartened up a bit and put in front of the Youth first, who Liked it. Then the logo was put in front of the rest of the Managers and trustees. Everyone was pleased with the symbol so it slowly started to get used, with stickers as the first main form of cheap branding.

Hand over
The new managment teams take over on the 26th of July 2007

The new young management team with their appointed roles have got fresh new ideas for the drop inn to hopefully expand the project, built the profile and make more links with other organizations, but mainly to have fun!

D.I.Y Tour 07

First Aid Course [session of The Fire Project]
As part of the Fire project you were also taught the basics of life saving. A group of paramedics came in to teach a session on life saving and the steps you have to take to ensure your safety comes first, then you can aid the person or people at an emergency scene.

The project was a partnership between the Drop Inn and Derbyshire Fire Service - Belper Fire Station. It is the second time we have run this project concentrating on road traffic collisions. A session with paramedics showing equipment and first aid was included. DVD and discussion sessions highlighted effects crashes have on not only the car occupants but on their families, friends and witnesses. A mock car crash was set up and young people were cut out of the wreckage - it was a scary experience for participants and audience. Very effective project which we are hoping to run again in the near future.

The Drop Inn Band Night
A selection of young bands performed to a crowd. All the event including the stage set up and promotion was all set up by one of the young members. There was some seriously good talent. Over all it was a very successful night which we intend to do again!

Bet 4 Production
Riding Dirty was a dramatic production with all kinds of brilliant ideas put together for a performance. After weeks of work shops and practice, the result was amazing!
26 weeks or workshops around dance, movement, sound, grafitti art, music, song writing, script writing and more included over 60 young people. The end result was performed by 15 young people to a public audience on two nights - dispite attacks of nerves it was absolutaley brilliant. The project was funded by Clore Duffield Foundation and put together by Bet4 artists. We all enjoyed being involved on a project of this scale and will definately do a similar project (without stealing a car - but thats a different story)!!

Tackling Drugs Changing Lives Award 06
Andrea Fox - founder of the Drop Inn was nominated for Drugs Worker of the Year Award and won the title for the East Midlands. It was in recognition of the work done through the Drop Inn around drugs awareness, support and diversions, going the extra mile to help. The award ceremony was held in London and included a rather posh dinner. Ann Wallwark - director of DeBradelie Mill Shop arranged a fitting for Andrea and donated a suit for the occasion - much better than Andrea's usual jeans and boots!!

The Drop Inn opens a GYM
With Vicky one of our members of staff trained to do exercise sessions and support in a Gym. We found funding to build a small Gym. It contained a Treadmill, Multi-Gym, Rowing Machine, Weight Bench with Weights, Step Machine and Cycle. The Gym has loads of users, and as long as Vicky and a member of staff is in there with people they can use it. It's absolutely brilliant!
