The new website design is ready to be uploaded this week. This second generation of website design is based around an illustration made representing RURAL FACE URBAN MIND. Which is emphasizing the problem small towns have, and how there not notices just because of small populations. In reality the problems are worse by population.

A side for the reasoning behind it, it looks a brighter
design than
the old one!

Hope it works o.k,
and I hope everyone likes it!

Let the Machines do the Talking

The youth achievement awards performance. We've decided to try a different approach again with this performance. This one will be based around the title only. It is an open theme and open for any ideas based around the title.

Our take on the title is based around living through screens. We are producing a tick list survey to research how much time people spend in front of digital screens. I'm obviously in front of one right now typing this message. This survey will be sent round the linking lives group as well. The results from the youth and the linking lives group will be then compared.

These idea will hopefully give us some evidence we can use for a message to send out to our audience. Something like can we live with out looking at screens?

Last night we bounced some idea's around for technologies and methods in which to perform. These idea's can be used with any story line. They are as follows:

PHONE: We were thinking of using a group of phones to build a sound track. One phone would start with a basic beat / baseline, then a second phone would join in with another element of a song, like the vocals or the some symbols? If there was up to 6 phones there would be six different sounds and beats from each phone to combine to make a music. On stage there could be a dance routine introduced.

PROJECTOR: It would be interesting to add some depth and originallity to the performance by adding projected film to compliment the acting on stage. Something along the lines of pausing a film on the projector then acting out the rest of the scene?

Mint Driving - session 3 + 4

Session 3 : In session 3 of the driving project the young people had 25 minutes practical driving time each, in this time they did emergency stop and bay parking. All the young people took a hazard perception test on the computers they will do this each week while attending the course and will hopefully show a great improvement by the last session.

They also did a questionnaire about different signs, they worked in pairs and had to find all answers out of the high way code books. The questionnaire included questions such as what is the definition of Signs Giving Orders. Find four examples of warning signs, as well as many more questions.

Health and Body Image Course

Four young people from Belper School attend The Drop Inn on a Thursday morning to do a Body Image Course. The girls have all ready completed Child Care, Drugs Awareness, and Alcohol Awareness OCN courses. Within the Body Image course they are looking at the way the media portrays young people and body image. Does the Media affect young people and how they see them selves. Does it affect there appearance there weight and the way they look.
