Pauline Latham the MP for Mid Derbyshire has kindly nominated The Drop Inn for a National award. We ae so please to be nominated it means a lot to us and shows there is a great deal of support out there. If we win we also get awarded £10,000, which is incredible.

Award Filming in London

Adie went down to London to complete the filming ready for the National Award Ceremony in March. The film crew have already called and filmed at the Drop Inn centre and interviewed Adie. This day He went down to their London Based Studios.

Tom Stone Won the Excellence in The Community Awards 2010 for the great work he does for The Drop Inn especially for the 'Safe Rave' Project and the construction of the Indoor Skate ramp.

Award for Operation Relentless involvement

The Drop Inn has WON an Award for it's initiatives to improve public confidence and safety during operation Relentless 2009!! With in a week of joining this operation the Staff and young people at The Drop Inn cleaned up an act of graffiti vandalism to the Belper Skate Park. There was racist graffiti all over the Skate Park, which was believed to have been done early in the day. The Drop Inn team alerted the police, council and the press and set off with their safer neighborhoods anti graffiti kit to clean it up. Three hours of cleaning and the Skate Park was all clear of racial graffiti, then the council came to re-paint the last of the mess the graffiti paint had left. Thank You to all the young people and staff involved, and Thank You for this award!

Excellence in the Community Award

Andrea has won the Excellence in the Community Award for Derbyshire, through the work she has done for the Drop Inn. This is the 6th Award the Drop has won, well done Andrea. We are aiming to win 4 more before the tenth Birthday. D-i x

DAFTAs

We won an Award at the DAFTAs for the Best Our School / Our Place Nominations. We came first place Key Stage 3 for the Award which we are really happy about.The short film war made on the taster day in the Easter holidays, it was fun to make - people had to film, direct, edit and act! The idea was a short promotional film about the Drop Inn. This was our first attempt - we have improved through the film project running at the moment on Tuesday nights. We are looking forward to next years, where we will enter some more films. Can we just say a big thank you to Film City for working with us on this film resulting in winning another Award, Thank you Film City!
