The third Freshers night saw even more new faces. Everyone joined in some really silly games like, suck-the-pea, and eating a chocolate bar with no-hands relay. It was a very entertaining night with lots of laughs.

DJ Shookz workshop [3]
Everyone is making amazing progress! The three young people that have signed up for the 20 minute set are putting the extra efforts in, and getting really good!
The three people going for the 20 minute radio slot have picked what tunes they are playing, and have been mixing up to three tracks in a row!

F7/10 - [3/6]
The third F7/10 Under 18's 'safe rave' was the first introduction to a traditional DJ, to keep all the parties fresh. Theo (The DJ) went on at half 8 for a hour and a half of Drum and Base. It was a great success again with over 70 young people attending.
We found out more lights this time. We have cupboards full of our old light systems. Expect even more lights next time!
For The 3rd 'Safe Rave' we had Theo in for DJing, who was mixing up Dibstep and loads of Drum and Base!
The U.V Wall was in full shine again with everyone covered in U.V Paints.

MacMillan Coffee Morning
We handed loads of leaflets out in King Street and around Town. There was a few younger people helping out from Belper School, Unfortunately there wasn't that many older people who attended this event. Quite a few older people approach with the leaflets said they had already supported the Charity. It was still a nice morning with some new faces to Visit the Drop Inn. Thank You to everyone that helped out and attended the event. D-i x

Freshers/09 - Drumming Circle
The second Freshers week saw some more new faces. The activity this week was a Drumming circle which sounded brilliant!

High Sheriff donation
The High Sheriff kindly payed us a visit and gave us a check to build a small indoor skate park. Everyone is so excited about the construction of this new attraction. He also said before leaving that we are Amber Valleys "Number one Attraction, right on the Door step." How amazing! Definitely the best compliment we've had in a while! The whole night has seen so many smiles, so Thank You High Sheriff.

Freshers/09 - Glass painting
The first Freshers '09' nights was a success, with 20-30 year 7 + 8's turning up. They were all really impressed with the space, getting involved with the glass painting activities and playing with our usual attraction.

Freshers|09 - Poster
The Year 7 + 8 freshers start at the Drop Inn tonight. They will be running for 6 weeks, every Tuesday night 6.30 to 8.30. This is a friendly atmosphere, and good place to meet friends, with different things planned for each week. Tonight will be glass painting, next week is poi and drumming, the third week is silly games, The fourth is a treasure hunt with prizes, the fifth is DJing and team challenges with prizes, and the last week is a huge U.V party. F7/10 - [2/6]
The second F7/10 Under 18's safe rave went really well. We had 71 that attended a few less than last time, due to other events happening in the town the same night. It was amazing with as many people dancing. This time we changed the music line up to more Dubstep, DnB and elecro remixes which was more of a success with the dancing. We have also added a new smoke machine that fills the warehouse with in around 15 seconds, it;s amazing and got loads of attention. Everyone is looking forward to the next one in two weeks (25/09/09). Thank you to the DJ Darrel again! D-i x

Art Derby Subscription
We now have an Arts Derby Profile, which is another big step to becoming a recognized Arts and Multi Media centre.
NEW SMART board
We have just had a brand NEW SMART board installed in our gamed room. This will be perfect for our new training courses we are hoping to run soon this year. This is another huge step to becoming a community technology centre. Thank you, D-i x

Auction 2009
The Drop Inn is having a second auction. On the 21st of November we will be auctioning off a load of amazing stuff @ The Nailers football club, Belper. Lat time we raised over 1500 and had around 100 people attend. We are hoping this year will be bigger and even more successful. Hopefully see you there.

Re:space [4] Painting of floors
Sorry for any inconvenience but The Drop Inn will be closed from the 31/08/09 till the 04/09/09. It will be re-opened the following week. The Drop Inn is undergoing another refurbishment with all the warehouse floors being repainted. It's smartening our space up even more. Come down and see how the improvements look next week.
