Skydive Booking
The Skydive is a crazy fund raiser for the Drop Inn Charity. It is also an opportunity for Billy of our members who is deaf. Adie is his interpreter and the person who arrange the who fundraiser. Today it got booked for the 25th March, and Adie made sure Billy could do it, which he can with an interpreter, it's an amazing opportunity!

Table Tennis Semi-Pro
A Semi-Pro Table Tennis Player by the name of Ae came in on a Thursday night to start coaching Table Tennis. It was amazing to watch and the young people learnt a bit about playing Professional Table Tennis. Ade said he had run and wants to come back and do more coaching sessions. It's Brilliant!!

Whitemoor Centre Visit
I am delighted to say that the visit to white moor day care center was certainly a memorable experience for everyone that attended. we started with a presentation and a short role play session delivered by the police to show "hate crime" situations that may arise in everyday life, and how these can be avoided/ tackled.
This then lead onto a heart felt performance from members of white moor theatre group following the story of a character born with down-syndrome, and how their life was affected by "hate crime" and the general stereo-types that follow.
At lunch time we were provided with a choice of three meals including; Chicken tikka with rice, Jacket potato with salad, or a bean-chili.
After lunch, Andrea lead a presentation for the Drop Inn, explaining what we provide as a youth center, projects we have run amongst the community, Issues we face, and a video of the recent inter-generational project from Andrea's "linking lives" work.
So far the day had consisted of "sit and watch" activities, so we decided to take it a step further with an interactive drum session in which The drop inn provided white moor members with various percussive instruments. This activity reached far further than every one of our expectations. With a smile on every face and a vibrant energy amongst the center, we continued to perform with "poi" and the circle percussion. Our activity was so successful that the police decided to cancel their quiz activity and let us carry on with our inclusion work. Jasper provided well know chart songs with his guitar, while the rest of the room participated with drumming, dancing, tai-chi, break-dancing, or just a pleasant sing along. It really was a fantastic experience.
We were thanked at the end by the police, staff from white moor, and, one member from white moor stepped to the mic to give a heart touching personal thank you from himself and the rest of the members.
One staff member said "Thank you so much for your time, I don't think you realize how much this means to them. It's the happiest I've seen them all year"
It really was a rewarding day to see a smile put on everyone's face. We look forward to future inclusion work bringing communities together.

Portland 6 - Wheelchair Rugby
This was the 6th time The Drop Inn has visited Portland college, which is always good fun. This time we were playing wheelchair rugby which is a lot harder than the wheelchair basket ball.
The second match was 7 - 3 to Portland, The Drop Inn side got completely flattened. The wheelchair rugby sport is so demanding, but so much fun!
The final score was 5 to Portland and 4 to The Drop Inn. It was a close game, both sides played so hard. Looking forward to the next visit.
Thank you to The Rotary Club and Portland college it was really amazing, Hope to arrange something soon so you can come to The Drop Inn for a second visit. We have some idea's involving beat boxing with our new Loop pedal.

Portland College 2008 visit
It was another really enjoyable trip up to Portland college. We played wheelchair basketball again. It's so hard to co-ordinate a wheelchair while trying to pass a basketball around. So of us got the hang of it.

The scariest picture of Calum to date. Definatley the funniest performance, wheel chairs are really hard to control while playing a sport, everyone but Callum got the hang of it, well done to all who took part!

Instead of spinning the wheelchairs round, people started throwing basket balls in all directions.
I was really impressed with Dan's beatboxing duo with one of the Portland members.
