FreeFall - Set up
We have built a huge space for a projection screen.
This will be used by the amazing Urban Projections on the day of the fundraiser.
There will be VJ workshops in the day for all ages, and the live VJing at night.
Excitement is building event more!
FreeFall - Set up
The Real Ale and Cider supplied by the George and Dragon Belper has arrived.
This is the first time we have done this - the first time we have offered real Ale and ciders.
Probably the only youth centre to currently smell like a brewery - we hope! as we have a great excuse ... it's a family fundraiser.
Don't worry they are safe and hidden away ready for the fundraising event.
FreeFall - Set up

FreeFall - wristbands

Belper Arts Trail 2013
The installation looked good once all in place.
Sadly the final idea was to stitch a timeline through the mesh banner.
Each of the stiched lines would be different colours to represent the different links and influences between projects.
This would have made it more an interactive multimedia piece of work complimenting the digitally printed mesh banners as the main display.
There are 8 different frames displaying 12 different banners showing a timeline over all 13 years in operation.
Through producing this timeline to discover the recontexualised projects we currently have, we also found that each year there have been more and more creative projects being ran.
This is probably because the most popular creative projects get re-ran and re-planned or even joint to future project.
This is the fist time we have brought this project evolution to our attention.
It was a very interesting find.
We picked the pyramid shape and idea to represent the recycling of the creative projects we have ran.
Each of these pyramid grid timelines visually show how projects have influence and been adapted over the years.
To make our recontexual timeline of creative projects more interactive we also included some QR (Quick Response) codes.
The QR codes link to sound clips or films of projects to expand on what you see on the digital timelines.

Belper Arts Trail Planning 2013
Planning and model for Belper Arts Trail 2013.
Humm, what could it be this year?
Plans and sketches for 2013 Belper Arts Trail.
- Timeline of recontexual projects.
The concept is taking old work and almost reworking / remaking / remixing it ...
We are not one artist, we are a youth centre with a vibrant past or creative projects.
We decided to pick out all our creative projects and see where they have been re-used / combined and remixed to create or inspire new projects.
For example DOODLE DRUM one of newest projects is two projects combined to create a new one. The Trash drumming evolved from Drum cirlces at a festival years ago. The illustration part developed through running a series of different art workshops and indoor graffiti sessions.
We can trace most projects back to see where they adapted and expanded from.
This will be a time consuming process, but once created it should show a visual timeline illustrating how our projects have been recontexualised over 13 years to create new creative work(shops).

Re:space [7.5] - DiBar
We have repainted our DiBar area.
Looks loads brighter than it was.
We are looking for funding to install some new flooring and some smart bar stools.
Can't wait to see it all finished.
